Month 6 and 7

• From weeks 22-26, the babys hair begins to become visible.
• The skin starts to wrinkle
• fingerprints and footprints begin to form
• Finally the baby starts listening to you
• develop lungs.
• Week 27 is the end of your 2nd trimester.

• Can swallow
• Makes urine
• Blood forms
• Gains gender identifying characteristics,
• More human like face
• Finger and toes have nails

Trimester 1

Month 3

Stage 1

• labor is generally defined as beginning when contractions become strong
• regularly spaced
• at approximately 3 to 5 minutes apart.

3rd stage of labor

• The third stage of labor commences when the fetus is delivered
• concludes with the delivery of the placenta.
• Separation of the placenta from the uterine interface is hallmarked by three cardinal signs
• a gush of blood at the vagina
• lengthening of the umbilical cord
• a globular shaped uterine fundus on palpation.

Stage 2 of labor

• The second stage of labor commences with complete cervical dilation to 10 centimeters
• ends with the delivery of the neonate
• After cervical dilation is complete, the fetus descends into the vaginal canal

Month 8

• by 8 months, you baby begins to practice breathing
• fingernails have reached a full growth
• The skin is pink and smooth
• and the fetus is more plump and round.

Month 5

• From weeks 17-21 the baby begins to develop fingernails
• toenails
• The baby begins to hear
• reaching the halfway point.

9th (Final) month

• The final month, the toenails reached full development
• the baby can now grasp things
• The baby is ready to be born.

13-16 weeks

• From weeks 13-16 your baby begins to form and release urine in the womb.
• The sex of the baby becomes more apparent
• their scalp pattern begins to develop
• they begin to start moving their eyes.

• Now called embryo,
• Head makes up most of the body,
• Body parts are more identifiable but not in final spot
• Eyelids used to protect eyes
• Brain and lungs form
• Hands and feet are distinguished with finger and toes starting to show
• 3rd month:

• Sperm and egg form zygote in fallopian tube
• Implantation, Blastocyst begins to burrow into uterine lining
• Head, limb buds, eyes and ears begin to form
• Heart beat becomes constant
• Blood flow in vessels becomes more regular
• Bones form from tissue
