Units of Measurement
The two most common systems of measurement are the U.S. standard system, also called the U.S. customary system, and the metric system. The U.S. standard system is based on older English units, while the metric system was created later and based on units of ten.

The agua fresca recipe makes a certain amount of liquid. Marcus has a 3-liter container he can fill with the drink.Is the container large enough?
Marcus visits family members in another country. They are planning a large family dinner. To help, Marcus will make a traditional fruit drink called agua fresca to serve with dinner. He has a recipe written using metric units, which is shown to the right.

Leila would like to place a table in a small space. The space has a total width of 38 inches. The store shows the width of the tables she is looking at in feet and inches. Leila knows she needs to convert 38 inches to feet and inches to find the right size table.
