ENERGY is the ability to do WORK or CAUSE A CHANGE
There are TWO basic types of Energy: Potential and Kinetic
What is ENERGY?

- Chemical
Kinetic Energy is The Energy of Motion-Depends of Mass and Speed 4 Types
Potential Energy is Stored Energy- Depends on Shape and Condition of Object. 4 Types
Two Types of Energy
When finished work ahead to the Energy Skate Park Assignment...You will need to ask the teacher for an answer document
After Completing the Energy Skate Park: Can you label the following diagram in your notes using the following word bank: Max PE Max KE PE=KE Min PE
In other words, Energy can be constantly transferred back and forth between POTENTIAL ENERGY and KINETIC ENERGY
Law of Conservation of Energy: "Energy cannot be created or destroyed; energy is only transferred or transformed within a system" The total amount of Energy must add up to 100%

Next you will complete your frayer models for the 4 types of Potential Energy
Click the arrow and work on Frayer Model notes for the other forms of energy in this order: 4. Gravitational 5. Elastic 6. Nuclear 7. Chemical ****You will need to: - Define the term based on each lesson
- Illustrate 2 drawings/Examples that represent that form of energy
- Write any statements or extra information or vocabulary associated with that form of potential energy
Gravity is affected by what to factors?

- The total energy of motion (kinetic) and position (potential) of an object.
- When work is done to an object, it gains energy. The energy it acquires is known as mechanical energy.
- When you kick a soccer ball, you transfer mechanical energy to make it move.
- ME = PE + KE You can only have 100% energy in a system!
What is Mechanical Energy? PE + KE = ME ***Don't Forget the sum of all energies must equal 100% *** Law of Conservation of Energy
