- Nouns are stressed on the first syllable
- Adjectives stress the same syllable as their root word
- REMEMBER! The suffix (-able/-ible) is not stressed

- There are very few rules that can help us!
- If the root word has a soft "s", "c" or "g" sound, we often use "-ible"
