Self-Reflection Exercise 6.1

  • I needed to feel like my mentor understood my concerns.
  • I needed the most support when I was having trouble leading difficult conversations.
  • My mentor advised me to avoid having conversations that would put people against me.
  • I wish my mentor would have demonstrated how to lead these conversations rather than avoid them.
  • From Table 6.1 the most difficult support function would be providing postive expectations.
  • I need to practice expressing positive expectations to increase this skill.
