In Jenny Han's novel, Lara Jean writes love letters to five of the boys she's loved in her life. One day, she finds out they've all been sent out, and now all the boys come back into her life. However, only one of them sticks with her through it, Peter Kavinsky. The book came out in 2014, with a 2018 film starring Lana Condor and Noah Centineo.

In another Jenny Han novel, Isabel "Belly" Conklin is teenager who spends every summer with her brother and family friends at Cousins beach. One summer however, everything changes. She is left with the decision between Conrad and Jeremiah. This three-part book series starting in 2009 came with a 2022 TV series starring Lola Tung, Chris Briney, and Gavin Casalegno.

Written by L.J. Smith in 1991, The Vampire Diaries revolves around vampire Stefan Salvatore and his life. He falls in love with human Elena Gilbert, but his brother Damon Salvatore gets involved in the drama as well. The book series was adapted into a TV show on the CW in 2009 starring Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, and Ian Somerhalder.

First published in 2002 by Cecily von Ziegesar, Gossip Girl is a novel series about rich elite socialites in the Upper East Side of New York City, primarily focusing on best friends/frenemies Serena Van Der Woodsen and Blair Waldorf. The CW adapted the series into a TV show in 2006 starring Blake Lively and Leighton Meester.

Sara Shepard started the Pretty Little Liars book series in 2006, following four best friends being stalked and harassed by a mysterious "A" after the disappearance of their group Leader Alison DiLaurentis. The series was adapted into a TV show in 2010 by ABC family starring Lucy Hale, Shay Mitchell, Ashley Benson, Troian Belisario, and Sasha Pieterse.

In this 2016 graphic novel by Alice Oseman, it tells the story of Charlie Spring and Nick Nelson, two boys who meet and fall in love, while also revolving around the love lives of their friends. The series is ongoing, with a Netflix TV adaptation releasing in 2021 starring Kit Connor and Joe Locke.
