A palavra “Pessoa” ; - de origem latina, deriva de persona, «máscara de teatro» - significa o papel atribuído a essa máscara, a "personagem";- capacidade de estabelecer relação com os outros.

características que nos distingue dos outros seres vivos; - liberdade; - racionalidade (razão, pensamento, inteligência); - comunicação sentimentos direitos e deveres dimensão moral (bem/mal) ; - dimensão espiritual/religiosa, abertura ao transcendente.

Quem é pessoa?

Para o pensamento cristão atual estas duas realidades são inseparáveis. O ser humano é compreendido como uma unidade corpo-espírito. Nenhum de nós é simplesmente corpo, nem simplesmente espírito. Se não fôssemos corpo, não seríamos capazes de comunicar com os outros. É através do corpo que expressamos o que sentimos, pensamos ou decidimos. Sem corpo seríamos seres virados para dentro de nós, como conchas fechadas que não comunicam com o exterior. O nosso corpo exprime as mensagens do nosso espírito.
