How to play

The aim of these activities is for students to revise and consolidate their knowledge of Present Simple and Continuous The activities are designed to identify the differences between the tenses and later practice, practice, and practice. Altogether the set contains more than 100 examples that ss can exercise on.

* One by one

* Warm-up
Page 3 includes a simple categorizing exercise that helps students properly identify present simple or continuous. * SS sort out the expressions and sentences and when they complete the exercise correctly it will automatically show the completion button. T can use it as a class exercise and whole class discussion on the rules and structure of the tenses.
* Show ss the sentences one by one asking them to put the verbs in the correct form. T analyzes the mistakes or explains the doubts on the way. * Variation - T divides SS into groups and shows the sentence to them. SS complete the sentences and collect the points.

* Perfect score

* There are 3 sets of sentences in this activity for ss to complete one by one. Each set contains more sentences than the previous one. The ss can only move on to the next exercise when the complete all the sentences correctly. Tell ss to work in groups and complete the verbs on their own. Then ask ss to give their answers to the class to fil in the blanks. * Variation - if the ss can complete the activity on their own devices ask them to do it in small groups and work out their way through all 3 sets and complete as fast as possible.

* Faster and faster

This activity contains 70 randomly picked sentences to fill in. T can just keep picking the sentences at random for ss to do or play a more competitive timed game. * Variation 1 - Team race - divide ss into 2 teams. Tell one team that they will be students and the other team - the teachers. Tell ss that they have 5 minutes to complete as many sentences as possible while the Ts need to either accept the sentence or reject it. Monitor ss choices. After time's up - change the roles. To reset the timer, click TIME'S UP - the slide will reset. * Variation 2 - Organize a competition without a timer, pick a sentence and ask ss to change the verb forms, assign points for each correct sentence.
