Learning is social. Individuals learn through repeated cultural and social interactions within peer groups, schools and professional learning communities (McLeod, 2024)
Characteristics of Connectivism include that learning and knowledge are acquired through connectedness, diversity of opinions, autonomy and openness Corbett & Spinello, 2020).

The types of learning include complex learning, rapid and changing, and a diversity of sources of knowledge, This would include digital learning (social media, online activities) and classroom discussions (WGU,2021).
Questioning and reflecting on ideas exchanged through social interactions leads to individuals internalizing their learning and performing tasks without assistance from others (Jeong, Clyburn, et al, 2022).
The role of memory in connectivism is we make connections, or “links,” between various "nodes" of information, and we continue to make and maintain connections to form knowledge (WGU, 2021).
Learning occurs when peers are connected and share opinions, viewpoints, and ideas through a collaborative process. Whether it be socially or technologically (WGU, 2021).
Learning Theories
The types of learning include collaborative and cooperative learning,. Scaffolding and reciprocal teaching are effective strategies in the classroom (McLeod, 2024).
Learning occurs when adults have the motivation, strategies and the supports to perform, learn and or achieve their long-term goals (Feder, 2024).
Adult Learning Theory
The characteristics of sociocultural theory include zones of proximal development, scaffolding, language/dialogue and tools of culture. (McLeod, 2024)
Malcom Knowles
Types of learning include self-directed, andragogy, drawing from lived experiences and a life-centered orientation to learning (Feder, 2024).
If learning is relevant, adult learning becomes more engaging and effective, leading to better retention and use of knowledge (Feder, 2024).
Characteristics of adult learning theory include: adults have the need to know, are self-directed, have a readiness to learn and driven by a motivation to learn (Feder, 2024).
