Agatha Christie is a novelist. She was born in 1890 and died in 1976. She wrote many famous novels like The Mysterious Affair at Styles. She wrote Death on the Nile in 1937.

Death on the Nile is a novel. It talks about a rich woman, Linnet Ridgeway who married Simon Doyle, a man who had an ex-fiancée, Jacqueline de Bellefort. Linnet got fired on her head and detective Hercule Poirot will find out who murdered her.

Main characters

Linnet Ridgeway is a young rich woman who was on a honeymoon with her husband Simon Doyle in Egypt. She noticed that Jacqueline de Bellefort was following them. She knew that Jacqueline was Simon's ex fiancée. She was worried that she will ruin her honeymoon.

Linnet decided to talk about it to Hercule Poirot. Hercule reassures her that he would talk to Jacqueline. During the honeymoon in the Karnak Linnet was found shot on her head when she was sleeping. Hercule Poirot started finding the murdered with his partner Colonel Race.

At the end Hercule Poirot finds out that the murderer was her own husband Simon Doyle who planned all this with Jacqueline de Bellefort.

In the end Jacqueline killed herself and Simon with the gun when they were getting arrested. The main theme of the novel is obsessive love the depths a person will go for love. The message of the author is how love can make a person kill someone and how money can corrupt that love.
