La letteratura è il tentativo di catturare a parole qualcosa di importante che riguarda le nostre paure, le nostre speranze, la nostra capacità di guardare in faccia la realtà e di immaginare.

Quella che chiamiamo letteratura italiana è l’insieme delle storie scritte da chi, prima di noi, ha sperimentato e giocato con la nostra lingua, trasformandola affinché riuscisse sempre a raccontare ciò che sembrava importante, decisivo, imprescindibile, per dire i nostri sentimenti e il mondo.
