Geography

Greece is a country with many mountains and surrounded by the sea. It has over 1,000 islands! Some of the most well-known islands are Crete, Rhodes, and Santorini. Mount Olympus is the highest mountain in Greece and was believed to be the home of the gods like Zeus and Hera. The Aegean Sea, the Ionian Sea, and the Mediterranean Sea are all part of Greece. The god of the sea, Poseidon, was believed to control these waters. When you learn about Greek mythology, you can imagine the gods and heroes living and having adventures in these amazing places.
