When do we use it
The future present continuous is used to describe a fixed arrangement or a scheduled event. It usually implies a prior decision or organisation.
EX.:
- I’m attending a conference in Paris next week.
- We’re having dinner at my sister’s house this Saturday
- I’m training for a marathon until the spring.
- She’s studying for her exams until the summer.

Present Continuous
To be going to
VS
‘To be going to’ is generally more informal and use ‘to be going to’ for general plans, intentions or probability of events
The present continuous is more used in academic, formal writing and to describe future events.
