Some of the characteristics all plants share are:
- They are multicellular eukaryotes.
- They produce their own food through a process called photosynthesis.
- They are essential for us humans to live since they produce oxygen.
They don't have roots, instead they have rhizoids. They work like a sponge, they absorb a lot of water which helps keeping the soil moistured.Mosses are important for the control of the temperature in the envirionments.
Mosses:
Example: Leucobryum GlaucumLink:7 interesting things about moss. (s. f.). Kew. https://www.kew.org/read-and-watch/moss
They reproduce spores for reproduction.Their body contains stem, roots and leaves. It is a vascular plant.
Ferns:
Example: EquisetumLink:https://byjus.com/question-answer/which-of-the-following-is-the-characteristic-feature-of-ferns-a-ferns-have-seeds-b-plant-body-is-differentiated-into-root-stem-and-leaves-c-they-have-tuberous-roots-d-ferns-are-gametophytes/
They do not produce flowers. They form cones with reproductive structures.Thye have vascular tissues that help transport the water and the nutrients throigh the plant.
Gymnosperms
Example: CypressLink: Admin. (2021, 6 abril). What are Gymnosperms? - Characteristics And Classification Of Gymnosperms. BYJUS. https://byjus.com/biology/gymnosperms/
They are the group of plants that is more evolved.Their habitat is wide range. They attract insects which helps in the process of pollination.
Angiosperms
Example: RoseLink: Angiosperms Characteristics, Features & Reproductive events | AESL. (s. f.). https://www.aakash.ac.in/important-concepts/biology/angiosperms-general-characteristics
They are photosyntethic organisms. Can be unicellular or multicelullar. The reproduction can be either asexual or sexual.
