Antes da colonização pelos ingleses e franceses, o Canadá era habitado por povos indígenas. A França iniciou sua colonização em 1608 com a fundação de Quebec, enquanto os ingleses ocuparam a Baía de Hudson no mesmo período, resultando em disputas entre os dois países. Em 1867, houve a união das colônias e o começo da consolidação do Canadá como nação. A independência política total ocorreu apenas em 1982, com a promulgação da Carta Canadense de Direitos e Liberdades.

O Japão foi povoado há cerca de 30 mil anos por povos da Sibéria, com as primeiras populações formadas no século III a.C. A dinastia Yamato centralizou o poder entre os séculos III e VI, e o budismo fundiu-se com tradições locais. O país permaneceu fechado a influências estrangeiras até ao século XVI, com a chegada dos portugueses, e no século XIX, com os estadunidenses. A Era Meiji trouxe modernização, e o Japão participou nas duas Guerras Mundiais, sendo devastado pelas bombas atômicas em Hiroshima e Nagasaki.

Factos sobre o japão

A Finlândia é um país europeu nórdico que tem sido habitado há cerca de 10 mil anos. Tem mais de 5,77 milhões de habitantes mas a maior parte da população concentra-se no sul devido ao frio imenso. A sua história divide-se em três períodos. O prímeiro deles corresponde ao domínio sueco, que durou do início do século XIII até ao século XIX. Entre os anos de 1809 e 1917, a Finlândia passou a integrar o Império Russo. A independência finlandesa foi conquistada somente a 6 de dezembro de 1917. Dois anos mais tarde, o país adotou o seu atual sistema de governo, tornando-se uma república (parlamentista) e é agora um país económicamente desenvolvido e altamente industrializado. Foi uma das pricipais economias na Europa até 2008.

Factos sobre a finlândia

São Tomé e Príncipe foi descoberto pelos portugueses em 1470. As ilhas foram inicialmente usadas como colónia agrícola, principalmente para o cultivo de cana-de-açúcar, utilizando mão de obra escravizada africana. No século XIX, tornaram-se importantes produtores de cacau e café. O movimento de independência cresceu no século XX, e o país conquistou sua independência de Portugal em 1975. Desde então, enfrentou desafios políticos e económicos, incluindo golpes de estado e instabilidade, mas atualmente é uma república democrática. Hoje, a sua economia depende principalmente da agricultura e do turismo.
