MAGNETISM
:)
and their properties
differnttypes
Para vs. dia
This is the Pauli Exclusion Principle!
This is Hund's rule!
Paramagnetism refers to the magnetic state of an atom with one or more unpaired electrons.
DiamagnetismIn turn refers to the magnetic state of an atom with no unpaired electrons.

video
Usually, we think of metals when we think about something being magnetic, but this clip shows liquid oxygen sticking to some strong magnets
Magnetic non-metals
Same concept with diamagnetism, but it repels magnetic fields. This image shows graphite floating over some magnets.
DiamagneticNon-metals
The spin is what allows things to be either attracted to or repelled by magnetic fields.
as mr. brandstetter taught us, electrons have spin. In pairs, they have to spin in opposite directions. If they are unpaired, they can spin in either direction.
how do electrons make it magnetic?
ferrofluid
actual fancy stuff
i hope this wasn't boring :)
