Although the path has eight factors, they should not be thoughtof as stages which are passed through on the way to nirvana then leftbehind. Instead, the eight factors show us the ways in which Morality,Meditation, and Wisdom are to be cultivated on a continuing basis.
This stage is often refered as the stage of suffering and this is when people are dweling in their pain and aren't doing anything about it yet.
This is the stage where people discover their sufferings and what they are attached to that isn't beneficial to them.
This the stage where you are liberated from your suffering and desires.
This is the stage where a person is enlightened and finds their inner peace.

The Buddah against his wishes became one of Indias Dieties
At the end of Buddahs life his disciples were sad to see him go but Buddah once again reminded them of the "Human condition"
Question Revisted: How Does Buddism Relieve Suffering If you are giving up your luxuries? And Do Buddist Believe that life is only suffering
While Buddism was founded on the idea that humans are all made for suffering and eventually death Buddist do NOT believe that life consist of only suffering. They believe that you can in fact exit the cycle of suffering through a state of englightment. They believe that in order to reach that state of enlightment you must partake in the rituals and practices we've talked about in this powerpoint.
