Ansi tia/942
By Marta Brotons Aguilar
summary
Today we are going to present some basic information about the ANSI/TIA 492 standard, the keysubsystems needed to make a data center according to the standard, a classification of the tiers of the standard and to finalice, a data center created by me and the explanation of why I put some of the elements.
What is the ansi/tia 942 standard?

Ansi/tia 942 standard:
Means "telecommunications Infrastructure Standard for Data Centers", this provides guidelines and specifications for the design and infrastructure of data centers. It provides a set of guidelines and best design, construction, and operation of data centers and telecommunications rooms so the people can understand what they need in a data center.

Objectives
Contextualiza tu tema con un subtítulo
Make data centers reliable
Be sure that data centers work without problems or interruptions
Create guidelines
The ANSI/TIA standards were made to help on how to make a data center
Help data centers grow
Know how to upgrade or expand a data center when needed
Improve the security
It will be more secure to for the data centers, and won't be easy to acces to personal information
Reduce costs and energy
It has tips to use less energy and be more efficient
Minimize data loss
With backup solutions, it will be easier to have the data in problems of energy.

There are four tiers
Tier 2 data centers have some backup components for critical systems, this reduces downtime, but it isn’t completely protected.
Tier 3 data center has redundant systems for most of its components. The backups will keep things running if a problem appears.

Tier 4 is the most advanced tier, they are designed so that even if something big fails, the data center will still keep running.

3.MANTAINABLE
tiers
A Tier 1 data center is the most basic. It has no backup systems.

conclusions
1.air conditioner. 2. Ups
+ info
Data centers generate a lot of heat cause of the running equipment, like servers and computers. Having an air conditioner helps keep the room cool, which prevents equipment from overheating and ensures they run efficiently and reliably. What it does: It regulates the temperature in the data center, making sure that the environment stays safely operating.
If the power goes out, the UPS gives backup power so the data center doesn’t shut down suddenly. This stops data loss and damage. What it does: It keeps the equipment running for a short time when the main power is off.
conclusions
3. Racks and Towers 4. Operation Room with PCs
+ info
Racks and towers organize the equipment. They provide structured places for servers, network devices, and other hardware, keeping everything tidy and easy to access for maintenance. And the most important, the information and data is all there. What they do: They house and protect your equipment, allowing proper airflow, easy cabling, and efficient space usage in your data center.
An operation room with PCs is important for monitoring and managing the data center’s systems. The PCs give you access to control the servers, check performance, and respond to any issues quickly. What it does: This room acts as the control center for the data center. The PCs allow staff to monitor the health of the systems, troubleshoot issues, and manage network traffic.
conclusions
5. Switch 6.Toilet
+ info
The switch is a key part of the network. It connects all the devices in the data center, allowing them to communicate with each other and the internet. What it does: It acts as a central hub for data traffic, making sure that data is routed to the correct devices, helping maintain smooth operations.
Obviously it is needed, is a toilet.
conclusions
7.Security Guard 8.RAID
+ info
The guard protects the data center from people who shouldn’t be there. This keeps your equipment and data safe. What it does: They control who enters the data center to make sure only the right people have access.
A RAID disk saves copies of the data across several disks. If one disk breaks, the data will still stay safe and you can still use it.What it does: It protects your data by storing it on multiple disks, making sure you don’t lose anything if one disk fails.
