• Identify prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells
• Identify plant and animal cells
• Prepare wet mount slides
• Learn the purpose of organelles

• Closed-toe shoes
• Goggles and gloves (when using methylene blue)

Week 5: Cell Organelle & Structure Lab

Nucleotide

• Methylene blue

• Dye that stains cells blue very quickly

• Positively-charged dye

• Stains the nucleus of cells since DNA is negatively-charged
