- No introduction (What's your name? What is your topic?, etc.).
- Technical problems, drinking water and playing with your phone.
- Unsiutable fonts and background colours.
- Inconsistent fonts & font sizes .
- Too many animations/transitions.
- Overdependence on reading from the slides/notes.
- Bad body language (no eye contact, crossed arms, back to the audience).
- Ignoring of questions from the audience.
- No reference list at the end.

WHAT MAKES A good ACADEMIC PRESENTATION?
- Introduce yourself and what you are going to present to the audience.
- Use clear, consistent and appropriate fonts and font sizes throughout.
- Elaborate what you put on your slides (give more analysis, explanation and details, etc.).
- Pay attention to your body language (face the audience, eye contact,).
- Give opportunity for questions.
- Speak at an appropriate volumn and pace.
- Cite your sources and include a reference list at the end.

A GENERAL AND AN ACADEMIC PRESENTATION ARE SIMIAR IN MANY WAYS. hOWEVER, THE DIFFERENCES ARE in YOUR academic presentation, pay attention to:
- your research questions.
- BEING EVALUATIVE (ANALYSE AND EVALUATE INFORMATION).
- citation.
- make sure you answer your research questions.
- You have to shift your focus from being descriptive (in general presentation) to being evaluative (in academic presentation) BY PUTTING ANALYSIS AND EVALUATION OF THE INFORMATION.
- you have to cite when you use visual data (graph, chart, diagram, etc.) that is created by someone that is not you and remember to include a reference list (IN THE ALPHABETICAL ORDER) in your last slide!
