Common Assessment Development:1. 2 teachers per course, $750 stipend2. Create common BOY, MOY and EOY common assessments that align with the scope and sequence and tag questions to standards for LinkIt! integration purposes3. Will present common assessment drafts to the department on March 4th for feedback and will use the feedback to make adjustments as necessary
January 2025 to March 2025
Department will need to discuss whether the common assessments will be used for benchmarking only OR also as midterms and finals (do we want separate assessments or just one set of assessments?). In addition, the assessments will be added to LinkIt! over the summer.
1. Teacher Leader team will begin working to develop a department vision, goals for the implementation process, determine PD needs, and gather input and feedback from department members. This will be an ongoing process throughout the implementation. In addition, the team will create a continuum for engagement with the textbook and its resources, present it to the department and
conduct walkthroughs in the fall and the spring. Findings will be reported out following the walkthroughs. 2. Savvas Professional Development workshopping day (in-person date TBD) possible topics include UDL lesson design using textbook and online resources, assessment maker, Listenwise integration etc.
October 2024
Coverage will be provided for the teacher leader team and for the professional development as needed. We are still determining whether the PD will be for everyone for a full day or whether the department will be split into 2 3-hour sessions.
ATLAS Curriculum Documentation:1. 2 teachers per course (WH, USI and USII), $750 stipend per person2. Update ATLAS to include scope and sequence changes, new common assessments, addition of model UDL lessons that were submitted by the department, and the integration of Savvas online resources etc.

- 3 teams of 2 teachers (WH, USI and USII)

Once a pair has developed their lesson, they will observe one another teaching the lesson, and will meet afterwards to discuss how it went. Coverage will be provided to facilitate this. In addition, each pair will share their experience and findings with the department during a department meeting.
Paired Lesson Planning and Observations:Teachers will be paired up by course and will work together to develop a lesson plan using Savvas materials and resources on a particular standard of their choosing. The focus of the lesson could be based on the BOY or MOY assessment results, a UDL designed lesson etc.
February 2026 to May 2026
September 2025
1. BOY Common Assessment delivery and data analysis2. Scoring calibration practice
Teachers will review results individually and by course and will use the data to drive instruction, identify areas of focus for possible professional development etc.
To ensure equitable grading practices and high expectations for student performance, we will practice calibrating scoring of performance tasks in preparation for midterm common assessment scoring using samples from BOY assessments.
1. Department Learning Walkthroughs using continuum related to engagement with the textbook and its resources (to be developed by the teacher leader team); continuum will be presented to the department by the end of October and walkthroughs will be conducted in November/early December by the teacher leader team. Findings will be reported out and discussed prior to the December break. 2. Use BOY data to inform instruction and assessment (individually and by course if department members want to collaborate and share resources)
October 2025 to December 2025
1. MOY Common Assessment delivery2. Performance task scoring 3. Data analysis and growth
January 2026
We will use common planning time to conduct "blind scoring" of performance task questions by course.
