Usage: It is used to express habits, routines, general facts, and universal truths.
Structure: Affirmative: Subject + base form of the verb (he/she/it adds “s” to the verb). Negative: Subject + do/does + not + base form of the verb. Interrogative: Do/does + subject + base form of the verb?
Examples: Affirmative: She reads every morning. They play soccer on weekends. Negative: He does not like coffee. We do not watch TV at night. Interrogative: Do you study English every day? Does she work here?
Usage: It is used for actions that are happening right now or for future plans.
Examples: Affirmative: I am studying right now. They are playing basketball. Negative: She is not eating lunch. We are not watching a movie. Interrogative: Are you reading this book? Is he coming to the party?
Examples: Affirmative: She visited Paris last year. They watched a movie yesterday. Negative: He did not go to the gym. We did not finish the project. Interrogative: Did you see the match? Did they arrive on time?
Examples: Affirmative: I was reading a book. They were playing soccer. Negative: She was not sleeping. We were not watching TV. Interrogative: Were you studying at 8 PM? Was he working yesterday?
