We will be covering these topics this year in ELA

  • Write opinion pieces on topics or texts, supporting a point of view with reasons and information
  • Explore reading comprehension strategies through novel studies
  • Conduct short research projects that use several sources to build knowledge through investigation of different aspects of a topic.
  • By the end of the year, read and comprehend informational texts, including history/social studies, science, and technical texts, at the high end of the grades

  • Learn Spanish language throughout the different subjects, specially the Science and Social Studies projects.
  • Reading, listening, speaking and writing.

  • Encourage them to watch movies in Spanish they have already watched.
  • Read easy books.
  • Play Duolingo.
  • Practice the games in Google Classroom.
  • Play the kahoots uploaded.

expectations

  • Phones are not allowed to use in the classroom unless for medical reasons.
  • Learners will keep their hands to themselves and treat each other and our SCVi staff with respect.
  • Work will be completed on time otherwise learners will not receive full credit for assignments.
  • Please check Google Classroom and our weekly updates for upcoming assignments and assignment due dates.

  • We will be taking role at the beginning of every morning meeting (Monday - Friday @ 8:30 am)
  • Let us know when your child is going to be absent (doctor’s appointment, trip, etc.)

  • Learnes must be on time at 8:30 everyday.
  • School dismissal at 12:30 pm on Fridays.
