Contrasting forms to express future
- Use the simple past for actions that began and ended in the past, with no connection to the present. The present perfect is for actions that started in the past but are still happening now.
- The simple past shows that something happened at a specific time in the past and is no longer ongoing. However, we need to add details about when the action occurred.
- The present perfect shows that something started in the past and is either still happening or happens regularly. We might need more information to explain how long it has been happening.
