Simple Present

We can use the Present Simple to refer to things that are always true, or that we consider to be facts.

The basic structure of the passive voice in the present simple is.

Subject + To be (am-is-are ) + Past Participle + (by the agent )

Examples.

  • Chocolate tastes good.
  • It gets dark at about six oclock.

Present Continuous

The present continuous generally refers to situations or actions that are being carried out at the moment and, as in spanish, learning this verb tense is essential to have fluency and expression in any conversation in english.

Object + To be (am-is-are ) + Being + Past Participle + (by the agent )

  • He is learning english.
  • She is crying a lot lately.

Present Perfect

The present perfect passive voice in english is used to focus attention on the action that has been performed, rather than who or what has performed it .

Subject + Have-Has been + Past Participle + (by the agent )

Examples.

  • I have just finished my exam.
  • He has already washed the dishes.

Past Simple

We use the past simple to express that something has ended or been completed, and that the period of time in wich it ocurred has also ended.

  • In 2015 the company doubled in size.
  • Earlier this year, I visisted Turkey.

Past Continuous

The passive voice with the past continuous in english is used to describe actions that are being carried out at the moment you are speaking.

  • She was watching a film yesterday when i called her.
  • The boys were climbing a tree.

Examples.

Past Perfect

The past perfect is used to refer to an action that ocurred in the past before another. In this case,the first action is conjugated in the past perfect, while the second, the most recent, is conjugated in the simple past.

  • I had watched the movie before I read the book.
  • I had been happy in all jobs until I got this one.

Future Simple

When the object is more important than the subject.To avoid mentioning the subject or when it is not know.To make a formal or neutral statement.In scientific writing to focus on the process or result

  • It will rain tomorrow.
  • I will pay for the tickets by credit card.

The construction should be can be part of a passive voice verb, but cannot be passive voice by itself as the to be verbs do not have voice.
