Restricting Access

Sometimes you need to keep a tight grip on your files. With Google Drive, you can restrict access by preventing viewers from downloading, printing, or copying your document. You can also stop editors from sharing files with others. These features give you peace of mind, ensuring the information stays exactly where you want it.

Click on the settings gear from the share menu to restrict access.

Expiration Dates

Ever wish you could set a timer on a file to revoke access after a certain period? With Google Drive's file expiration dates, you can! This feature is perfect for temporary projects or sensitive information, ensuring your shared files stay secure by automatically revoking access when the time is up.

To add an expiration date:

  1. Open a shared file.
  2. Click Share.
  3. Click the role drop-down and then Add expiration.
  4. Click the pencil to edit the date.
  5. Click Done.
