His studies
William Shakespeare was born in Stratford-Upon-Avon the 23 of April 1564. His father was a rich merchant and glove maker so he had the possibility to study in the local school of Stratford. He studied Latin, Rhetoric, logic and the classics of literature. But we aren't sure that he completed his studies, also because he didn't go to university.
Shakespeare in London
In 1592 Shakespeare was in London. And he was already famous in the theatre's world. In 1594 he started to work in the most famous theatre's company in London "The Lord Chamberlain’s Men", and they also performed for the Royals.In 1599, William Shakespeare built the largest open air amphitheater in London the"Globe Theater" and the theatre's company were he was became very famous in all the city.

How did his plays became so famous?
To match the various tastes of his audience, Shakespeare created texts of high complexity, containing relatively simple plots as well as subtle nuances. But the particular thing is that his stories also contained multiple interlocking plots, twists and confiusions, containing something for everyone in the audience, from the poor people to the royals. In his works, he used his own special lenguage, rich in metaphors and he even created new words.
The changes that Shakespeare brings to the theater
- It is thought that Shakespeare is the one who introduced women to act in the companies;
- Is the one that create the modern concept of theatre:
- Shakespeare invents verbal scenography;
London in the 1500s and 1600s had a great theatrical ferment

The galleries
The theatre consisted of three tiers of galleries overlooking the stage below. The nobility sat in the galleries which consisted of wooden benches and roofs to protect from the weather.
The galleries and the yard
The pit or yard is a standing area on the ground surrounding the stage , usually it was occupied by the commoners.There was no roof over the pit so if it rained the viewers in the pit known as groundlings would get wet.The stag was not very high so the groundlings had the possibility of being very close to the actors.
His plays
All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players

When Shakespeare moved to London, his wife Anna Hathaway and his children stayed in Stratford-upon-Avon. He returned to his own town frequently to visit his family when he lived in London.
Distance between Stratford and London

In November 1582 William Shakespeare and Anne Hathaway get married. She was eight years older that him and was already pregnant of their first child Susanna when they married, and then they had two twins Hamnet and Judith. The marriage was probably an unhappy one. Some historians think that Shakespeare had almost married a woman named Anne Whateley, by was forced to marry Anne Hathaway by the Hathaway family.
Shakespeare and Hathaway
- In fact in many plays of Shakespeare there's something that reflects his life. Hamlet is the play where this thing is more evident.
Hamlet
His life in his plays
His play "Hamlet" is probably written for the son Hamnet, who died prematurely at the age of 11. The play contains many parts that made the historians think that it describes part of the difficult relationship with his son.
