Forme régulière:
Les irréguliers, il faut les apprendre par coeur.Exemple: They went to the cinema.
Forme irrégulière:
La terminaison -ed se prononce différemment selon le son final du verbe :/d/ après un son voyelle ou sonore (ex. loved)/t/ après un son sourd comme /p/ /k/ (ex. watched)/ɪd/ après les sons /t/ ou /d/ (ex. wanted)
