How to make sentences
WORD ORDER
Word order is important to make a clear and coherent sentenceWord Order Equation:Subject (Noun) + Verb + Object or Adjective = a complete sentence. This equation is a surefire way to get a complete sentence. Although, sentences don't always have to follow this exact formula.
Sentence Structue
We can go even further with word order by making our sentences fit a certain structure. To understand this, it's important to understand what a clause is. A clause is an order of words containing a subject and a predicate (basically a verb). Clauses are what complete sentences are made of. Making different sentence structures involves combining differing clauses.
Independent/Dependent Clauses
Independent clause: A clause with a subject and a verb that can stand on its own as a complete sentence.Ex: Mary ran. Dependent Clause: A clause with a subject and a verb that can't stand on its own as a complete sentence. Ex: If I want to become a ninja...
