What are the steps of the college application process? Some steps to the college application process include writing an essay, deciding when you’re going to apply, and filling out the actual application. When writing the essay, the question is meant to challenge you and make you think carefully about your writing. The different times to apply are Early Decision/Action, which the deadline is usually around November, Regular Decision which the deadline is usually around January, and Rolling Admission where schools accept applications and evaluate them as they come in. Some of the key components of the Common App include personal info, high school transcript, standardized test scores, and letters of recommendation.
What, if any, steps have you already started? I haven’t really started much, I know where to see my transcript, and access my test scores. I could start making a checklist and start from there.
What steps in the process create the most anxiety for you? What steps in the process do feel the most confident about? The step that creates the most anxiety for me is writing the essay. I feel like I’m not the best at writing and it’s not my strong suit. But something I am confident in is my transcript, grades and tests. My grades look good, and I’m on track to have all of my credits too. I’ve also started to look at some SAT/ACT questions to help prep for those test as well.
