As John entered the high-rise lobby of the prestigious consulting firm, he was greeted by a polished receptionist who offered a warm welcome. “Good morning, Mr. Smith. Welcome to XYZ Consulting. May I offer you a drink or some refreshments while you wait?” John, always one to appreciate the small gestures of courtesy, accepted a coffee and took a seat in the well-appointed waiting area. He then explained, “I have an appointment with Ms. Jessica Brown at 10:30.” The receptionist, after checking the schedule, nodded and replied, “Thank you for letting us know. Ms. Brown is in a meeting at the moment, but she will be along shortly. In the meantime, if you need anything, please don’t hesitate to ask.” John inquired about the logistics of the building, “I only need a phone to make a quick call. Do you offer to book one, or is there a phone available in the waiting area?” “We do have a phone here for visitors' use,” the receptionist assured him. “However, if you need to make a call for an extended period, we can book one of our executive suites for you.” John then asked about local transport, “By the way, could you tell me how far it is to the nearest station from here?” The receptionist responded with a helpful smile, “It’s about a ten-minute walk. Alternatively, I can call a taxi for you if you prefer.” John appreciated the offer and said, “Thank you for the assistance. I’ll just stick with walking. I might need a taxi later, though, so I’ll suggest a time to call for one if needed.”
