Comparative Forms

Ex: good, better, best

Shows how two or more things or people are different by comparing them.

Comparative Forms

Example: This ride was faster than the last one.

Short Adjectives

(like "small" or "big") usually add -er to make the comparative form.

Example: This ride has more flips than the other coaster.

Longer Adjectives

(usually 2 or more syllables) use the word "more" before the adjective.

If the adjective ends in -y, change the y to "-ier."

Example: This new roller coaster feels bumpier than the old one.

  • good → better
  • bad → worse

Irregular Adjectives

Change completely in the comparative form.
