Questions
Question 1
Our problem is the contamination of fabric and clothes in the world, a major cause of this problem is fast fashion. Fast fashion creates clothes that go out of fashion quickly and of poor quality making large quantities, most of it as it goes out of fashion quickly is thrown away as waste. "Textile production is estimated to be responsible for about 20% of global clean water pollution." according to the The European Parliament.

Question 10
Who are going to be our goal customers?
Understanding this is very important to know and have in mind which are going to be the people that we are focusing on to make the blankets, adapt to their necessities and getting to know what they want is an important step in this process.
Which is the best way to unite the shirts?
Researching and knowing the process of how we are going to unite and make all that thrown fabric and T-shirts in to one big piece of blanket is very useful, knowing the way all this process works and looking for the best methods to make this process easier and of more quality.
What are the typical measurements of a blanket?
Understanding the typical measurements of a blanket helps you know the size needed to create a good functional product. This question is important to make sure that the blanket will be usable for everyday use. If the blanket is too small or too large, it might not have its intended purpose.
What ways/techniques would be effective to sew/unite together the clothes?
Finding a durable way of sewing them together guarantees a quality product. It is essential that we understand the process and what techniques we must use to make our final product: Since we are upcycling the shirts, we need techniques/ways of making the product of a great quality and durable for the market.
For this product, what would be the best structure/steps to be able to get the best product?
By identifying the best steps, the design can be ensured with its resources, time, materials, and labor. This minimizes waste and difficulties, allowing the team to focus on the most important aspects of the design that contribute to the best possible product.
What is the purpose of this product? Who is the product helping?
This will help us develop the product in many ways, like why are we making it, how are we making it and how will it help our topic issue. This Question can be answered in a mind map/brainstorming for the outcome of the product.
How many shirts are needed to create a 50 by 65 size blanket?
Knowing how many shirts are needed for the blanket is very important for calculating the required materials and planning the project. It helps us understand how many shirts will be recycled into our blanket. If we don’t calculate the right amount of shirts correctly we can not have enough to make the blanket completely or have too many shirts and would affect our product size and quality.
What resources (eg. sewing machine) would allow for the most efficient process of making?
Knowing what resources will aid your process of making is very important as it reduces the time required for each step. As well as this, it gives us an idea of more sustainable practices and materials we can put in action for this project.
Having taken into account technique, how long will it take to complete the final product?
Knowing how much time it will take to complete the product helps in creating accurate due dates. This allows for better planning of all the phases within the design cycle, including prototyping, production, and testing, ensuring that each stage is given enough time and effort the project has good progress.
What tools or material do we need to use for these types of clothes?
Researching which tools we need for the procedure of the product. This is how we gather the needed material and understand how we will use it in the making of the blanket. For example, Glue, scissors, ruler, or cutter. This will make the process much easier since we have the correct materials/Tools for each step.
