May

  • October 7: Last day for teachers to submit Deliberate Practice plans for approval.*
  • October 22: Last day for Administrators to review submitted plans, and approve or provide feedback for revisions. *
Resources:
  • May 1: Administrators verify that a rating is present for the DP element in the teacher's evaluation.
  • May 1: Administrators finalize instructional Deliberate Practice plans
Resources:
  • November 6: Last day for teachers to resubmit revised DP plans for approval.*
  • The teacher researches the target DP element.
  • The teacher implements the target DP element during instruction.
  • Administrators rate the target DP element in an evaluative observation.
Resources:
  • April 1: Last day for teachers to mark action steps as finished on the DP plan. Last day for teachers to request an additional DP observation (optional).
  • April 1: Administrators verify that the DP element has been observed in an evaluative observation. If DP element is not rated, administrators will schedule a Growth Plan observation with the teacher.
  • April 30: Last day to complete observations, including Growth Plan and additional requested observations

As a result of the hurricane school closure, dates with an asterisk* were updated to continue to reflect lnaguage in the Instructional Evaluation System Procdures Manual.
Timeline Clarifications
  • The dates displayed with the bullets are for teachers whose first duty day was August 2nd.
  • If the administrator does not approve the plan and returns it, teachers have ten (10) duty days to resubmit the plan if needed.
Leadership Tip:
  • Providing the due date for the teacher to return the plan and adding it to tthe administrator's calendar may support the teacher with completion and the administrator with remembering to review and approve the plan, after resubmission.

Instructional Personnel Finishing the DP

By April 1:

  • Last day for teachers to request an adidtional informal and/or Deliberate Practice observation.
  • Last day for administrators to mutually schedule a Growth Plan observation to occur prior to the adminstrator finalizing the Deliberate Practice Plan.
  • Teachers will have access to mark action steps as finished and document their learning and student outcomes associated with the target element on their Deliberate Practice Growth Plan in iObservation through April 1. Adding evidences to the Growth Plan is optional.
Administrators do not conduct an observation to rate the completion of teacher's marking DP Plan action steps as finished, and/or adding comments, reflection logs, or evidences on the Growth Plan.

Adminstrators

Completing the Instructional Deliberate Practice Process
  • Additionally requested & mutually scheduled observations to observe and rate only the DP target element are Form Type: Growth Plan & "counts towards evaluation".
  • The DP element must be observed prior to the administrator finalizing the DP, to calculate the DP score.
  • Administrators finalize the DP prior to completing the final evaluation. Prior to April 1st: the finish button will appear beside each teacher’s name in the Growth Plan section that received a rating for their target element that met or exceeded the goal they set. The finish button will populate for all others after April 1.

  • The dates listed within the bullets displayed apply to teachers whose first duty day was August 2.
  • DP plan submissions are due by the 45th duty day worked.
  • Administrators shall provide feedback within ten (10) duty days.
