What is MUN?

Model UN or MUN, is an educational model of the United Nations used for simulations in which students learn about diplomacy and international relations.

In a committee all delegates will have a placard. In order to say anything, you should raise your placard and get called on by the Chair .

To participate during the moderated or unmoderated caucus (debate) you must use a point or motion!

Common words

Adjourn: The debate is suspended until the next meeting. Chair: A member of the dais that moderates debate, keeps time, rules on points and motions, and enforces the rules of procedure. Roll Call: The Chairperson will announce each country’s name. After delegates hear their country, they should answer “present and voting.”

Common words

Motion: A request made by a delegate that the committee as a whole do something. Points: A request raised by a delegate for information or for an action relating to that delegate. Speakers' List: A list that determines the order in which delegates will speak.
