Middle term : one week or more of holidays
3 terms : - autumn term ( September - Christmas ) - spring term ( January - Easter ) - summer term (April - July )
school year : September to July
school is compulsory from 5 to 18 years old
A school year in the UK
The day ends around 3-4pm and then there are extra-curricular activities offered by the school such as sports, music, art, computers etc.
at lunchtime pupils can eat in the canteen or they can bring their own lunch
one lesson lasts 45min
the day starts at 9am with an assembley , usually in the school gym
