The PREP framework was developed by Daniel Fitzpatrick to help individuals guide Gen AI to generate effective responses. High-quality prompting guides ChatGPT to generate the output users desire.

When you assign Gen AI a role, you give it a clear idea of what you want it to do!

Give Gen AI a role! Roles help Gen AI to know how to approach your request and provide relevant responses. Without assigning roles the Gen AI model may not completely comprehend the context of your requests, which can lead to generic responses that do not address your requests entirely. Define the scope & boundaries of ChatGPT's answer - Shape the response.

It is importrant to avoid using ambiguous and vague terms that could confuse a Gen AI tool such as ChatGPT.

• Create an academic quiz to help me study for an upcoming exam.
• Help me to prepare to read and remember the key points in a chapter for my course.
• Help me to understand a historical figure's writing/point of view.
