Ways to implement concept sorts in class or asynchronously:
- Padlet
- Zoom Whiteboards

- Skill 1- Closed syllable, short vowel
- Skill 2- Two consonants, short vowel
- Skill 3- Open syllable, long vowel sound
- Skill 4- "E" at end of one syllable word, long vowel sound
- Skill 5- 2 adjacent vowels, first vowel is long

Phonetic Skills
- Blends- 2-3 consonents together that keep their sound and start a word (usually begin with L, R, and S)
- Murmur Dipthongs- R-controlled vowel, when a vowel is before an r and has the /r/ sound
- Digraphs- two consonants together that make a new sound.
- Special Vowel Sound- vowel combinations that create their own sound
