ACTIVITY
explain what a suffix is and itsfunction, shows examples on the board pronouncing slowly to emphasize sound changes, then divide students into small groups and give each team a set of cards with base words and suffixes. Teams must match the base words cards with the correct suffixes to make new words. E.g: Play / play+ing. Once formed, each team must pronounce the words out aloud, highlighting the phonetic change that occurs with the suffix.
