3.1
Perpendicular bisector
3.1 PERPENDICULAR BISECTOR OF A SEGMENT
The perpendicular bisector of a line segment AB is the perpendicular to the segment AB which passes through its midpoint M.
To draw it, it is needed to follow the next steps:
- Place your compass on endpoint A of segment AB and open it to more than half the length of the segment. Then, draw two arcs.
- With your compass opened to the same width as before, place the compass at endpoint B and draw two more arcs that will cross the other two at points M and N.
- Join these two points to get the perpendicular bisector.
