THE TRIP

In 2011, while in Bharuch, Swamishri suffered significant chest pain, that was later revealed to be his second heart attack. He received treatment and was again taken to Mumbai for rest and recovery.

In 2011, while in Bharuch, Swamishri suffered significant chest pain, that was later revealed to be his second heart attack. He received treatment and was again taken to Mumbai for rest and recovery.

By 2012, Swamishri had a pacemaker implanted in Ahmedabad. Considering his age and health, the decision was made in May 2013 that Swamishri would stay long-term in Sarangpur. All necessary arrangements were made, and Sarangpur Mandir became Swamishri’s residence. From then on, devotees from around the world traveled to this small village to celebrate utsavs and samaiyās and experience Swamishri’s divine presence. The idea was that having Swamishri stay in one location and not have to endure tiring travels, he would remain in good health.

On June 11, 2014, while in Sankari, Mahant Swami Maharaj wrote a letter to BAPS North America. The letter, which announced Swamishri’s upcoming visit to New Jersey to bless the land for Akshardham, was nothing short of shocking.

Even a momentary delay of Thakorji, who was usually in front, would make Swamishri feel uneasy. This is unimaginable. There were thosuands of devotees outside awaiting his darshan, but his vision was only towards Bhagwan.

Despite health challenges, Pramukh Swami Maharaj made a journey to North America due to his love and dedication to his devotees.
