Discuss these concert tickets.Which are reasonable and why …
Buying tickets for the upcoming Oasis concert has turned into a nightmare for many fans. After spending hours waiting in long queues on Ticketmaster, many fans found the cheaper £135 standing tickets were sold out. The only tickets left were the more expensive “in-demand standing” tickets, costing a staggering £361 each. Fans had just seconds to decide whether to buy these tickets, creating a sense of panic and pressure. One fan described how, after queuing for six hours and being kicked out of the queue several times, they finally managed to buy four tickets. The total cost, including service fees, came to an eye-watering £1,423.55. This price is comparable to a ticket for the Glastonbury festival and even more than the cost of a four-night holiday in Sharm El Sheikh. Fans who managed to buy tickets felt a mix of excitement and regret, questioning if the high cost was truly worth it. Many fans believe they were taken advantage of by the "dynamic pricing" system used by Ticketmaster. This system increases ticket prices based on demand, making it even more expensive as more people try to buy. Some fans compared the rush to buy tickets to the thrill of gambling, where impulse takes over. Former footballer Stan Collymore even called this practice "unethical" and something that should be illegal. Fans feel not only let down by Ticketmaster but also by Oasis and their management for agreeing to such a pricing strategy. The experience has left many feeling exploited and questioning their decision to pay such high prices for a band they once loved. In the end, they are left wondering if they were victims of a "supersonic swindle."
