The solomonic Dynasty was established in 1270 by Yekuno Amlak. This Dynasty ruled Ethiopia strengthening power, influence, and fighting off multiple invasions.

Led by Emperor Menelik ll, the ethiopian amry defeated italian forces. Therefore Ethiopia remained independent during the scrable for Africa.

Mussolini's troops entered Ethiopia and took control, facing strong resistance and causing significant suffering.

King Ezana declared Christianity Ethiopia's official religion upon his own accession to the throne.

The Axum Kingdom is centered in present day Ethiopian. Its known for its wealth, major trading and influence. It was also an early adopter of Christianity.

Rise of Derg

Ethiopian and Allied forces freed Ethiopia from Italian control, leading to the return of Emperor Haile Selassie to power.

Haile Selassie was removed and a provisional military government was established, The Derg which espoused Marxist ideolgies.

Ethiopia experienced a devastating famine, resulting in a worldwide humanitarian emergency and substantial international assistance.

The Derg was toppled from power, leading to the establishment of a new government and the adoption of Ethiopia's current federal structure.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed was honored with the Nobel Peace Prize for his work in promoting peace and fostering international cooperation, particularly with Eritrea.
