The main function of the Zero Conditional is to express situations that are always true when a specific condition is fulfilled. It connects a cause with an invariable effect.
Grammatical Structure

- Scientific Facts and Laws: Express natural phenomena that always occur.
- Example: If you heat ice, it melts.
- Routines and Habits: Describe actions that happen consistently under certain conditions.
- Example: If I wake up early, I exercise.
- Instructions and Rules: Explain how things work or how certain actions should be performed.
- Example: If the light is green, you go.
- Advice and Warnings: Give recommendations about what happens in certain situations.
- Example: If you touch a hot stove, you get burned.
The Zero Conditional uses the simple present tense in both clauses.
