How Do Roombas charge?
Home Base - charges only. This is how even the earliest Roombas were charging.
To charge, Roomba drives on a dock for its charging contacts to meet the charging contacts on a dock.
+ Info
Clean Base - charges and automatically cleans the dust bin after a cleaning mission. Appered with i series as an evolution of a Home Base. It gathers the debris into a Dirt Disposal Bag

Well Done! You got the basics, let's now get a deeper dive into the topic with the trainer...
Not really! Why not to give it another try?
Back to the Question
Charging Contacts
Charging contacts both on a Roomba and on a dock should be shiny and silvery-looking. It's not an issue if the contacts have some scratches on them, but dark stains on them are not ok - they can prevent the electricity from going through them, and thus, lead to charging issues.
