A CPU, or central processing unit, is a hardware component and the central computing unit of a server. Servers and other smart devices convert data into digital signals and perform mathematical operations on them.

A RAM slot, also known as a memory slot or memory socket, is a physical connector on a computer motherboard designed to hold and connect random access memory (RAM) modules.

PCI, or Peripheral Component Interconnect expansion, slots are openings on a computer's motherboard that allow additional cards to be connected to the system.

An input/output (I/O) port, also known as an I/O interface, is a connection point on a computer or electronic device that allows the transfer of data between the device and external devices or peripherals.

IDE Cable Connector: Used to connect storage devices to the motherboard. This cable is flat or ribbon and has up to 80 parallel wires, as well as 3 connectors (1 to connect to the motherboard and 2 to connect storage devices).

It is the traffic controller between the CPU, graphics card, RAM, storage, and peripherals. Experts have referred to it as the "glue" of the motherboard. The chipset is basically the electronic part of the motherboard that communicates with all the connected components.

The CMOS (complementary metal oxide semiconductor) battery, also called coin cell battery, on the motherboard helps the BIOS or UEFI store hardware configuration settings.
