What is it?
When two or more researchers independently investigating the same domain arrive at the same result, without direct knowledge of each other’s work. This phenomenon suggests that certain ideas or advancements might be inevitable once the necessary conditions or knowledge base are in place.
Why is differential calculus one?
Because Isaac Newton in England (1665 to 1670) and Leibniz in Germany ( a few years later, in the 1670s), made the discovery at the same time. They made different formulas, but they arrived at the same conclusion. Even though they didn't know eachother, Newton's supporters accused Leibniz of plagiarism.
Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection
Alfred Russel Wallace (Malaysia, 1858): Independently developed a similar theory of evolution by natural selection, leading to a joint presentation of their findings.
Charles Darwin (England, 1859): Published “On the Origin of Species,” presenting his theory of evolution by natural selection.
Stratosphere
In 1902, Léon Teisserenc de Bort from France and Richard Assmann from Germany, in separate but coordinated publications and following years of observations, published the discovery of an isothermal layer
