A principios de los 90, la UVM empezó a integrar tecnologías de la información en sus procesos educativos. Durante la primera mitad de la década de los 90, la UVM continuó expandiéndose con la apertura de nuevos campus en diferentes ciudades del país.

1990

Como consecuencia de los movimientos estudiantiles de 1968 el grupo de fundadores se desintegra y solo queda al frente de la institución José Ortega Romero quien le otroga el nuevo nombre a la institución. A partir de este año hay cambios estructurales y una mayor oferta de licenciaturas

1968 - Cambia su nombre a Universidad del Valle de Mexico
