The Real Number System
Absolute Value

Absolute value measures the distance a value is away from zero. The expression |-4| is read as "the absolute value of negative four." |-10| = 10 and |10| = 10 because -10 and 10 are both ten units away from zero. Picture a number line.
Two values are relatively prime if the only factory they share is 1. 17 and 6 are relatively prime because they only factor they have in common is 1. 17: 1, 17 6: 1, 2, 3, 6
A fraction is in simplest form if its numerator and denominator are relatively prime.
