OVERVIEW

Our Immersive Assessment - Question the Evidence, is a unique assessment experience that has never been done in the policing sector before. You'll embark on an interactive journey exploring what it is like to be a police detective. In this handbook, you'll learn more about how the assessment is divided into different exercises, and be given hints and tips, as well as some examples, to help you prepare.

WHAT TO EXPECT

During the assessment, you will answer questions to demonstrate your motivations for the programme and the role. You will be faced with scenarios you need to use your judgement for, and you will complete questions exploring your personality, allowing you to reflect on yourself and your working style. You will also complete a puzzle which will allow you to demonstrate your critical thinking. The more you research, the more you'll be able to demonstrate your knowledge and passion for joining Police Now.

Check your technology before starting and find a quiet place to complete the assessment with minimal distractions. The more present and involved you can be in the assessment, the more you’ll enjoy it, perform at your best, and take learnings from it.

TAKE YOUR TIME

Read all instructions and questions carefully. However, we recommend that you don’t think about your answers for too long, as it's usually most effective to read the question and go with your first response. The assessment is not timed, and should take you approximately 45 minutes. You’ll be able to take breaks in between sections, should you need to.

Will I receive feedback?

Yes, you will receive a personalised feedback report along with the outcome of your immersive assessment. We hope that the feedback report gives you good insight into your performance and areas for improvement.

Is there a deadline to submit my immersive assessment?

You will have five days to complete your immersive assessment. If you are not able to complete it within this timeframe

We’ll aim to be in touch with the outcome of your immersive assessment within five to ten working days. If you are successful, you will receive an email invitation to book your assessment centre. We would advise you to book your place, as soon as possible, as spaces are limited.
